PATH World Trade Center The WTC station on the PATH is the third station near this location
This page will deal with the current station
The station has three platforms and five tracks and is located in a loop. Track1 is served by a wall platform and tracks 2 and 3 share an island platform as do tracks 4 and 5. Normal patterns use 2 and 3 for Hoboken and tracks 4 and 5 for Newark . However, any train can use any track. At the WTC site, the PATH is the deepest train structure and is under all subway lines. Currently the station is open air and allows a view of the WC site. Leaving the train the PATH mezzanine has no facilities except a small newsstand and the escalator bank ( in their former location). The top of the escalators allow a view of the WTC site and have separate entries to the WTC Subway Station Complex and the Cortlandt Street station of the R and W train and the Cortlandt Street number 1 line IRT Station when it it rebuilt . This level is the site of the former WTC mall. |
