New York Central Putnam Line Electric Service (Getty Square Branch) 1/1894- 6/30/1941 This Line is now abandoned and as such information is sketchy. Your information is greatly appreciated. The line ran both Electric and Diesel service which shared the Van Cortlandt park Station. Sedgwick Avenue High Bridge Shared with Metro North's Hudson Line. The Putnam tracks were to the East of the Hudson line tracks. Platform layout is not known but was probably low platform. Morris Heights Shared with Metro North's Hudson Line. The Putnam tracks were to the East of the Hudson line tracks. Platform layout is not known but was probably low platform University Heights Shared with Metro North's Hudson Line. Kingsbridge no further information available Van Cortlandt Junction is located in Van Cortlandt park and is still there today minus rails. The platform is a low island with two tracks. The right of way is now a trail. This is the junction between electric and Diesel service Mosholu no further information available Caryl no further information available Lowerre no further information available Park Hill no further information available Getty Square (Yonkers) no further information available. The line died on 6/30/1941, a victim of declining ridership . It was finally scrapped in 12/19944 after a court fight which went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
