SEPTA has three active and one abandoned subway line

The Market Frankford uses wide gauge track width under running third rail while the Broad Street Line and Broad Ridge Spur use standard gauge track  and over running third rail. The Ferry line is abandoned and torn down. Due to differences in track there can be no sharing of equipment.
